Along with some other women, Mary Magdalene made her way to the tomb with the intention of embalming the body of Jesus according to Jewish custom. Good Friday - what does it mean to us?
(30.03.2010) Zurich. For us, Good Friday is a day of celebration in which we honour the sacrifice of Christ in deep thankfulness and humbleness. We commemorate Jesus, who gave His blameless life for us, so that we sinful human beings could escape death, and receive eternal life with God. This day calls to mind an event that was necessary for salvation, and thus it is just as holy to us as Christmas, Easter, Ascension, and Pentecost. more ...
Apostle Raúl Montes de Oca to succeed District Apostle Vilor
(29.03.2010) Zurich/Brasília. District Apostle Guillermo Vilor will be given a festive discharge into a well-deserved retirement in October of this year. He will be turning 66 in May of this year. In a letter to the congregations in his working area, District Apostle Vilor has informed members of who his successor will be: Apostle Raúl Montes de Oca. Change in the leadership of the New Apostolic Church Netherlands starting in 2011
(28.03.2010) Zurich/Hilversum. As of next year, District Apostle Armin Brinkmann of North Rhine-Westphalia will take over the leadership of the New Apostolic Church Netherlands. This announcement was made by Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber in today’s festive divine service in Hilversum. The current District Apostle Theodoor de Bruijn (64) will be festively retired upon reaching the age limit in May of next year. more ...
District Apostle Meeting concludes with numerous resolutions
(25.03.2010) Zurich/Dortmund. A number of District Apostles were still busy in various Project Group meetings up until Tuesday of this week. They had come to Germany over the previous week in order to participate in the first District Apostle Meeting of the year. The first topics up for discussion on Wednesday dealt with the Church’s activities in Asia, while the topics on the agenda for Thursday and Friday were of an international scope. The New Apostolic Church’s understanding of church and of Holy Communion featured prominently in the extensive deliberations of the meeting. (22.03.2010) Zurich/Dortmund. The festive divine service of this past Sunday marked the close of the spring meeting of the international leadership of the New Apostolic Church. Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber, who had come to the large congregation of Herne-Wanne-Eickel together with 18 District Apostles and 11 District Apostle Helpers from around the world, explained his definition of belief to the over 1,000 attendees in the divine service. “To believe means to leap upward - to the Lord!” said the Church leader. more ...

Bischoff Verlag: Strategic Reorganization for 2015

The Chief Apostle conducts divine services in Kenya

During Sunday’s divine service in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi, the international Church leader ordained Kububa Soko (40) as a new Apostle for the District Church of Zambia. Chief Apostle Visit Blessing for India
(05.03.2010) Zurich/Bangalore. A six day visit of Chief Apostle Leber to India began on Friday, February 19th, 2010. He arrived in Bangalore to join the District Apostles Latorcai, Andersen, Brinkmann, Hebeisen and District Apostle Helpers Woll and Dzur. After lunch the group left for the Bangalore Central Church, where the Indian Apostles and Bishops greeted them. The Chief Apostle delivered a spiritual address to the group, after which they divided into four groups for discussions with the Chief Apostle and the District Apostles in rotation. more ...
Earthquake in Chile claims many lives
(02.03.2010) Zurich. The death toll after the massive earthquake in Chile has climbed into the hundreds. According to current estimates, over 700 people have lost their lives. The New Apostolic Church shares in the suffering of the local population: we pray for the dead and our thoughts also go out to the survivors. The divine service took place in the New Apostolic congregation in Lucerne, the large city on the shores of Lake Lucerne, on Sunday, 7 February. New Apostolic Christians around the world send donations for Haiti
(10.02.2010) Zurich. International expressions of solidarity with the people of the earthquake region of Haiti have been overwhelming. Many New Apostolic congregations have participated in donation drives. There are reports of various campaigns from all District Churches around the world. For example, District Apostle Leslie Latorcai from Canada has written to the members in the congregations in his care that over 120,000 Canadian dollars have been raised across the country and presented to the national Red Cross. more ...

Concrete help for earthquake victims has arrived in Haiti

District Apostle Leonard Kolb from the USA has stated in a press release that a large-scale delivery operation of relief supplies for earthquake victims in Haiti has begun. Many members of the New Apostolic Church have sent donations to the accounts of the various relief organisations. The majority of our Church’s members on the Caribbean island have survived the devastating natural disaster, but like all other Haitians, are still greatly dependent on help and support. more ...
Malawi also battered by a series of violent earthquakes
(15.01.2010) Zurich/Dortmund. An earthquake with serious consequences for the population has also occurred in the African country of Malawi. In December 2009, the province of Karonga was struck by violent tremors registering at magnitudes of up to 6.0. “NAK-karitativ”, the relief organisation of the New Apostolic Churches in Germany, is currently accepting donations for both Haiti and Malawi. more ...
